Best known as the host of BET’s Comicview 2000 season, Rickey Smiley has been working the comedy circuit for the past 16 years. While establishing himself as a clean comic, his down home southern humor has made him a favorite in the nations top comedy venues. From intimate comedy clubs to sold-out crowds at Madison Square Garden, Rickey’s unique style of humor resonates with his audiences unlike any other comic on the road today.
In his personal life he finds time to devote to his family, church, and numerous charities.
Smiley’s unique characters have become his comedic trademark. When he is in character, he is so convincing that he often cracks himself up. From entertaining characters such as Ms. Bernice Jenkins and her church announcements…to Coach McClainy and his lack of motivational skills, Rickey’s audiences can’t seem to get enough of him.
Rickey now has a nationally syndicated radio show which airs in major markets across the country. He has recorded five classic “prank call” comedy CD’s, appeared in numerous movies and still travels the country performing in front of thousands. He is one of the most diverse entertainers today.
